How long have you been in business?
Brewster Allen Wichert has been in Business since 1974, we are one of the oldest Independent Insurance agencies in Islip township.
What is your primary product or service?
We offer a wide variety of insurance products and services such as Personal lines, Homeowners, Auto, Boat, Life Insurance, Commercial lines coverage Businessowners policies, Commercial auto, Workers Compensation, Inland marine coverages such as Builders Risk, Professional liability coverages Employers Practice, Cyber liability, Directors and Officers. Personal financial protection Long Term Care Insurance and for seniors we are licensed Medicare AARP approved agents.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I graduated C.W. Post College with an education degree but entered the insurance industry in 1980, I started with Equitable Life and now for the past 28 years have been the managing partner of Brewster Allen Wichert Inc.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
All insurance agencies when asked this questions answer with a similar response, we have great service. Well, we too provide great service but isn't that a given? It's our expertise in the field of insurance that seperates us from the others. My staff takes great pride in learning the nuances of insurance and sharing this information with our clients. As for me I have been a continuing Education instructor for the IIABNY for now over 16 years. Education and knowledge coupled with great service is what seperates us from our competition.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have two locations the main office located in West Islip NY, the our new office in Palm Beach Gardens Florida headed up by my son Greg Etimos, We have found that many New Yorkers have winter residences in Florida and we now can provide them with the same service and knowledge that they have come to expect from our agency.

The daily operations is overseen by myself and my office manager Melissa Southard,

Monday thru Thursday 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday 8;30am to 4pm
