How long have you been in business?
12 years.
What is your primary product or service?
We are a beverage retailer. Our main focus however is craft beer, or microbrews, as well as imports. We have over 700 beers available, and our staff is beer savvy, so we can help anyone, even if new to craft beer, find something they would like. We can tailor to fit your tastes, even if you are unaware of styles & flavors. We also help people pair food & beer.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was in another business that was not doing very well, and a friend of mine who knows my retail/service background suggested that I take a look at this place that was up for sale. I like people, and I enjoy good beer, so I took the plunge.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We, unlike many other beverage stores, stress customer service, and customer education. We will spend hours sometimes explaining styles and flavors to a single customer. We staff people who know and understand beer. We make sure that anyone from the novice craft beer enthusiast, to the most educated consumer, has a good experience here. We also have a 8 tap growler station, where we fill growlers (64oz. & 750ml containers) with unique, fresh, tap beer.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Just the one. I don't think I would ever expand, as it would take away from the personal, hands on relationship I have with my customers & friends.
Provide detailed directions to your location
Station Road goes from Horseblock Rd in Medford to Bellport. I generally give direction from Sunrise Hwy (27) because Station road passes over it at exit 56. Station Road South, over Montauk Hwy, 1/4 Mile on the left. It's a free standing building, just past Beaverdam Rd.
What type of payments do you accept?
Cash, and all Debit & Credit cards
Which areas do you service?
We have customers from Westbury to Montauk Pt. We deliver local. Most of our customer base is in Bellport, Brookhaven, East Patchogue, Patchogue, Medford, Yaphank, Shirley & the Mastics.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Me (Dave) and my manager Mike. We also have a part timer Rich, who is one the most knowledgeable beer guys around. One of us are always there. This ensures that even the toughest beer questions can be answered. We have trained most of our staff in all aspects, as well as teach them about the products we sell.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday - Saturday 10-8 Sunday - 10-6
